SME Crown Rep

Stephen Allott

Stephen Allott was appointed as Crown Representative for Small and Medium Enterprises by the Cabinet Office on 11 February 2011. The Coalition Agreement set out an aspiration that 25% of central Government procurement spend by value should end up with SME suppliers whether directly or indirectly.

The Prime Minister David Cameron and Minister for the Cabinet Office Francis Maude announced the SME policy and Stephen's appointment on that day.

Stephen's role was strategic dialogue between the Crown and its SME suppliers giving them a 'strong voice at the top table'.

On the 19th July July 2011, Stephen organised the Innovation Launch Pad which was inspired by Sherry Coutu and Rohan Silva.

Stephen stepped down on 30 June 2015 to focus on the G-Cloud and his own private business interests finally leaving the Cabinet Office on 23 December 2015.
